Lending a helping paw

Every so often, me and @HeatherAlex (& friends if we can talk them into it) try to raise some money for a Good Cause. Sometimes for anipals, sometimes for two-legged pals and sometimes for things we love (like big hills and wild landscapes).

Our current project

This year, we’re part of a team of people supporting a charity called WEvolution. They help women set up their own businesses so they can improve their lives. You can find out about the chairty and our 5×50 challenge here.

Previous projects

In October 2010, we went with @CatCripps on a Waggy Walk for Dogs Trust Glasgow, and raised £30.

On the waggy walk

I still think that hat looks very silly!

In May 2011, we did the Strathclyde Fun Run (well, umm, it was a walk not a run) for Motor Neurone Disease Scotland, again with @CatCripps. You can see the photos on my post about it – I had my very own T-shirt!!

In celebration of 2014 being a year for celebrating the life of John Muir, we went for a Big Walk of 1000 miles in aid of the John Muir Trust, also called JMT. JMT looks after wild land and wild places in the UK, much as John Muir did in his adopted home of America. We like wild places, so we’d like to help support them. So we walked 1000 miles for wild land, in wild(ish) places.  You’ll find the details here, and all our posts about it are in the “1000 miles” category.
